The Moxa Remote Connect Suite (MRC) is designed to be an easier and more secure way to connect to remote machines and equipment for troubleshooting, maintenance, data acquisition, and device management.
The platform includes server and client software and a hardware gateway to bridge gaps between field devices, engineers, and application servers. Hosted on Amazon EC2, MRC securely connects Ethernet-based edge devices to a server portal. Client software connects the engineering laptop to the server portal to manage devices in real-time through an HTTPS web console.
Auto Configuration makes installation "plug-and-play" simple, with no need for IT knowledge or to configure VPNs, perform firewall settings, or reconfigure IP addresses. Smart IP mapping avoids IP conflicts and is firewall-friendly.
To combat security risks having to do with Internet-collected data, features include end-to-end encryption to prevent person-in-the-middle attacks. A smart protection function includes an embedded firewall for remote access under whitelist control without network disruption. For on-demand maintenance, machine access is operator-controlled.
