GE Fanuc Automation North America Inc. (Charlottesville, Va.) bought the CimWorks GageTalker division and product lines from GageTalker Corp. (Kirkland, Wa.) on Jan. 18. CimWorks GageTalker will operate as a GE Fanuc subsidiary and its manufacturing hardware and software lines will complement GE Fanuc’s Open Factory CNC, Cimplicity, and general automation products.

USDATA Corp. announced Feb. 16 that its eMake division’s has installed preview versions of its Internet service at three made-to-order manufacturers. Scheduled to release its eMake Small Manufacturing Edition product in 2Q00, the division offers business-to-business trading, a real-time production portal, and other business applications. To increase its analysis measurement capabilities, Endress+Hauser Group’s Endress+Hauser Conducta GmbH (Gerlingen, Germany) recently purchased Exner Anlagenbau GmbH & Co. KG (Neuss, Germany). The new firm will be called Exner Gesellschaft für Analysenmesstechnik mbH + Co. KG and will retain its 25 existing employees.
