Open Modular Architecture Controller (OMAC) Users Group met on May 14 in conjunction with IAM '98 to update members on the status of the 11 working groups established in February. The groups are organizing and seeking participation from member companies to arrive at common interfaces, so end-users need not devote a lot of training when implementing new control systems.
Open Modular Architecture Controller (OMAC) Users Group met on May 14 in conjunction with IAM ’98 to update members on the status of the 11 working groups established in February. The groups are organizing and seeking participation from member companies to arrive at common interfaces, so end-users need not devote a lot of training when implementing new control systems. Two speakers from Japan told members about the deterministic Ethernet working group of JOP (Japan FA Open Systems Promotion Group) and about efforts to establish common interfaces to open controllers. Results and progress reports can be found at www.irofa.com/faopen/english . OMAC is at www.arcweb.com/omac /.
