Industrial Encoder Corporation has introduced the Industrial Encoder MH900 Series, an absolute multi-turn blind hollow shaft encoder for direct mounting on large-diameter machine shafts. The encoder provides absolute position feedback after power loss, which can reduce the need for homing when power is restored.

The MH900 Series has a Ø90 mm housing, blind hollow shaft diameters from 35 mm to 50 mm and a gearless, battery-free design. Interfaces include Analog, SSI, CANopen, CAN SAE J1939, RS485 and BiSS-C, with Binary and Gray code options and supply voltage options of 5 VDC and 8–30 VDC.

The MH900 Series offers up to 16-bit single-turn and 32-bit multi-turn resolution, providing absolute position feedback over multiple revolutions. The MH900 Series is suitable for applications that require absolute multi-turn position feedback, direct mounting with a blind hollow shaft and large-diameter shafts (35–50 mm), including rotary indexing tables, material handling systems, packaging machinery with rotary positioning axes, hoists and winches, conveyor drive systems and machine tools.
