AutomationDirect added new multi-turn absolute encoders from Lika Electronic that use Ethernet or serial communication to provide position and velocity data. Models are available for EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU. These encoders are designed to streamline wiring and lower processing demands while offering non-volatile position tracking without batteries or capacitors. They provide position data immediately on power up and track movements that occur when power is off.
All models provide programmable resolutions up to 8,192 pulses per revolution (13-bit). As multi-turn devices, they include programmable turns up to 16,384 (14-bit). Configurations include 3/8- inch solid shaft and 15mm hollow shaft models, with reducers for shaft sizes from 6mm to 1/2 inch. All models are rated IP65 for protection against dust and low-pressure water exposure.
The Lika Electronic Modbus RTU Configuration Software is available for download at no cost, allowing users to configure and program the Modbus RTU encoders, set parameters and monitor encoder performance.
