Hilscher cifX PC card family supports real-time Ethernet and fieldbus communication for PC-based automation. The protocol stack runs on the PC card, and process data is exchanged with the host through dual-port memory or DMA (direct memory access). The cards use the same driver and tools across different protocols and card formats. Different communication protocols can be supported by loading different firmware.
Options include different cable lengths, M-12 connectors, additional NVRAM, extended temperature range, 2-channel cards and detached network interfaces. Device drivers and a C-toolkit are available at no charge.
The cifX PC card family continues to expand with support for new standards, protocols and formats, including M.2, mini PCIe halfsize and CC-Link IE Field.
