As part of its “Customer One” strategy, Schneider Electric’s Automation Business May 14 bought ProWorx Nxt programming software from Taylor Industrial Software, a division of Total Control Products (Melrose Park, Ill.). ProWorx will be part of Schneider’s Modsoft products that provide a Microsoft Windows-based user interface to Quantum, Compact, and Momentum PLC hardware platforms, as well as to Modicon 984-compatible controllers. Taylor created ProWorx, which is popular across the U.S. and Europe. Total Control acquired Taylor in 1996. Terms of the latest software purchase were not disclosed.
