XE900M combines a microcontroller and 900-MHz transceiver, while XE924M includes embedded modem technology, 900-MHz transceiver, and communication controller, reducing cost by eliminating hardware redundancy. Use of up to 126 carrier frequencies (in the 900-MHz ISM band) reduces interference problems by allowing channel changes. Multiple XE924M units operating on different frequencies can extend the distance and number of nodes within a network.
