Joint initiative to explore cellular solutions for industrial automation

Vancouver, B.C. and Bakersfield, CA – Sierra Wireless and ProSoft Technology have announced negotiations toward an initiative targeted at industrial automation and control solutions. The discussions center on P

roSoft Technology’s incorporation and distribution of Sierra Wireless's mobile and M2M (machine to machine) devices using its ALEOS embedded intelligence for device integration and enablement of what Sierra says is an always-on, always-aware network connection, critical for real-time remote monitoring, configuration, and logging. Sierra Wireless mobile and M2M devices are certified for use in hazardous environments.
ProSoft says its deployment-ready options and integrated industrial protocol support allow end users to use its RadioLinx industrial cellular products for remote process or OEM equipment monitoring, for non-time-critical control for municipal and oil/gas SCADA, and for M2M applications.
ProSoft products featuring Sierra Wireless’ ALEOS technology are expected to be commercially available in first quarter 2009.
