Problem: Is there a way to drive a ground rod without using a hammering device?

Solution: Start the hole for the ground rod and add water. Start probing the rod into the hole, and put in more water as the surface becomes dry. The water and rod create a hydraulic effect, causing the dirt/mud mixture to come to the top. This action allows the rod to be driven all the way in by hand without having to hammer it into the ground.
