WBF honors Thomas Fisher

Phoenix, Ariz. - World Batch Forum (WBF) recently awarded Thomas G. Fisher its distinguished Dr. Guido Carlo-Stella Award.

Phoenix, Ariz. - World Batch Forum (WBF) recently awarded Thomas G. Fisher its distinguished Dr. Guido Carlo-Stella Award. Mr. Fisher is presently operations technology manager for The Lubrizol Company (Wickliffe, O), chairman of World Batch Forum and past vp of publications for the Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society (ISA, Research Triangle Park, N.C.).

'This honored recipient has more than 33 years of control systems engineering experience and holds a B.S. and an M.S. in chemical engineering. Thomas Fisher has done more to clarify, explain and promote batch control technology than any other single person, and is almost solely responsible for conceiving and initiating the SP88/S88 effort. Mr. Fisher has helped educate a generation of batch process engineers through papers, presentations and tutorials. He has also authored several books, and published many articles on safety interlock systems, control design, and control application including a major text on batch control systems,' says Lynn Craig, Manufacturing Automation Associates' president.

The award was created in 1999 in honor of Dr. Guido Carlo-Stella, an outstanding professional in the field of batch processing. This award is presented to individuals who have also excelled in the field and/or been an inspiration and mentors to others in the process industry.
