What Makes Henry an Engineering Leader
Henry played a key role in expanding ATEC’s E-field Calibration Scope of Accreditation by successfully calibrating E-field probes and generating Type A data to support uncertainty analysis. His technical contributions directly enhanced the laboratory’s accredited capabilities.
In addition to demonstrating a strong work ethic and reliability, Henry consistently shows a willingness to take on new challenges. He has actively built his proficiency in power loggers, NARDA probe calibration and RF instrumentation, including signal generators and spectrum analyzers. His initiative, adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement make him a valuable member of the team.
Leadership & Industry Contributions
Henry demonstrated exceptional leadership when he assumed full responsibility for the NARDA laboratory following the previous technician’s departure. He quickly stabilized operations, mastered the high-frequency and RF probe calibration processes, and took the initiative to train additional personnel to ensure the team’s long-term capabilities.
Through Henry’s guidance, the laboratory strengthened its technical rigor and improved workflow consistency. His expertise and commitment were instrumental in successfully achieving the 17025 E-field Calibration scope expansion, a milestone that reflects his ability to lead complex technical efforts while elevating team performance. His proactive approach continues to build confidence, capability and resilience across the organization.
Henry’s broader industry contributions include attending the MSC conference and ATEC symposium, where he expanded his RF knowledge as part of his efforts to become a more advanced calibration technician. He has also participated in IEEE meetings at ATEC, contributing to professional dialogue and standards discussions.
His impact extends to internal knowledge-sharing sessions. Henry taught new technicians how to function-check and calibrate Fluke fiber-optic testers and trained technicians to calibrate NARDA equipment.
Why Henry Chose This Career
Henry chose this career because he grew up admiring his father, an engineer who often showed him real projects at home. From a young age, Henry was naturally curious about how things worked and enjoyed building things. As a child, he played with LEGO bricks; as he grew older, he began trying to understand the logic behind everyday technology.
Following in his father’s footsteps felt both inspiring and familiar. Engineering became the ideal way for Henry to combine his childhood curiosity with a meaningful, hands-on profession.
