Boston, Mass. — Invensys (London, U.K.) announced its new division, Invensys Business Solutions, during Foxboro’s 11thannual users group meeting held on July 30 through Aug. 3. Led by chief executive Bruce Henderson, the new division will coordinate and focus Invensys’ business units—APV, Foxboro, Baan, Wonderware, and Triconex—so they can deliver business solutions from the plant floor through ERP systems.
Invensys Business Solutions’ management believes there is growing need to offer users expertise and performance guarantees that span the entire enterprise. The division is assembling a cadre of business professionals skilled in addressing control and information management solutions in chemical, oil and gas, food, pharmaceutical, and power generation industries. Areas of expertise include management consulting, business application selection and development, business process reengineering, and full-life cycle support.
Nearly 500 users gathered at the users group conference listened as Foxboro’s management reinforced their commitment that users achieve guaranteed results with zero investments. The company reports it now has more than 300 engineers and economist/business analysts on staff and plans to more than double that number in the next 12 to18 months. Working in teams with users, these professionals identify opportunities and work with users to ensure defined improvements can be measured, implemented, and made sustainable.
Products introduced at the meeting included a new FOUNDATION fieldbus-compliant multivariable temperature transmitter, RTT25, which is available with single or dual measurements, multi-point characterization, and output linear with temperature or humidity.
