Bognor Regis, U.K. — With the release of its DeltaV version 3, Fisher-Rosemount says it’s produced the first truly homogeneous and scalable process control system permitting FOUNDATION Fieldbus devices to be plugged in and automatically recognized by an automation system. When DeltaV is coupled with FOUNDATION Fieldbus intelligence, for example, alerts from field devices can be integrated into batch logic. DeltaV can then request operation intervention before continuing sequencing or before initiating control responses to field device information. Delta V version 3 increases maximum database size by 10 times compared to its original release. It also includes a new supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) point capability with a database several times larger than the control database.
