ODVA launched an initiative to advance research, streamline planning, and improve operations, following a board-led review of strategic governance.
ODVA elected its leadership for the 24th term at the 23rd Annual Meeting of Members on March 20, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida. ODVA introduced an initiative to enhance research on emerging technologies, refine planning and prioritization, and improve operations. Technologies include Single Pair Ethernet (SPE), standardized information models, artificial intelligence, open technologies, vendor interoperability, safety and security. This effort follows a review process initiated by ODVA’s board of directors.
The ODVA Board of Directors is responsible for strategic planning and governance. It includes senior executives from major industrial automation companies. In the 24th term, the board members are:
- Mr. Franz Durmeier, head of digital integration, Endress+Hauser Process Solutions
- Mr. Jon DeSouza, president and CEO, HARTING Americas
- Mr. Toshiyuki Shigehisa, general manager, Drive Product Management Group for OMRON
- Mr. Davis Mathews, president, Industry Management & Automation, Phoenix Contact
- Mr. Thomas Petersen, senior director, fieldbus and system integration, Danfoss
- Mr. Brian Reynolds, CTO, Projects & Automation Solutions, Honeywell
- Mr. André Uhl, vice president, technology and architecture, Industry Automation Business, Schneider Electric

ODVA’s corporate leadership develops and implements the strategic plan, manages technology development and publication and associated specifications, and handles organizational governance. In it’s 24th term, ODVA’s corporate officers are:

ODVA’s Technical Review Board (TRB) manages technology and standards, including approving changes to ODVA specifications, which include the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) and its network adaptations, such as EtherNet/IP and DeviceNet.
