What Makes Divya an Engineering Leader

Divya is an automation controls engineer and technical leader whose work spans the United States, Canada, Germany, Mexico, Brazil and beyond. She works across PLC and machine-control logic, industrial electrical networks and interfaces, diagnosing and improving every layer of modern automated facilities that empower critical global logistics infrastructure.

Across defense, pharmaceutical, retail, grocery and fulfillment supply chains, Divya builds reliability-focused systems that reduce downtime and improve operational continuity at scale. Named to the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) UK 35 Under 35 list, invited to speak at IEEE on AI-assisted diagnostics, and serving as an IEEE peer reviewer, she is helping shape the next generation of industrial automation.

Leadership & Industry Contributions

While managing escalations across multiple customer accounts, Divya identified a pattern: Resolution delays stemmed not just from technical complexity, but from fragmented version control, inconsistent repository structures and varied troubleshooting practices. Recognizing that this systemic inefficiency was quietly eroding service quality across the organization, she built a business case and formed a cross-functional team spanning electrical engineering, warehouse control system software engineering, project engineering and engineering management.

Divya led the initiative from diagnosis through deployment, restructuring the repository architecture, standardizing code commit conventions and redesigning escalation workflows to eliminate friction. As a result, the first-call-to-resolution cycle time dropped from 14 days to under 10, first-call resolution increased from 90% to 93%, and accelerated escalation resolution time improved by 55%. She then trained 50 electrical and software engineers to embed these standards across the organization, guided by the belief that lasting solutions require shared knowledge rather than individual dependency.

Divya was named to the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK 35 Under 35 list in 2026. She was an invited speaker for the IEEE Cincinnati Section, presenting on “Debugging Complex Industrial Control Systems: From Field Failures to AI-Assisted Diagnostics,” and serves as a Technical Program Committee member and reviewer for IEEE SoutheastCon 2026.

An active member of IEEE Women in Engineering, the Society of Women Engineers, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, and the International Society of Automation, Divya holds Six Sigma Green Belt certification along with certifications in Cognex machine vision, Eaton variable-frequency drives, PowerFlex drives, Profibus networking and Allen-Bradley PLCs. She has authored more than 40 knowledge-base articles on controls diagnostics and industrial networking and designed training sessions that reach approximately 50 electrical engineers as part of formal team onboarding.

Why Divya Chose This Career

Divya’s interest in engineering began at a young age when she and her father built a simple sensor to measure soil moisture in their garden. That early project sparked a curiosity that eventually led her to pursue electrical engineering.

From solving complex circuit challenges during her undergraduate studies to troubleshooting intricate electrical and software issues for hundreds of customers in automated facilities, Divya has always been driven to understand how systems work. She enjoys solving complex problems, learning continuously and seeing the real-world impact engineering can have on people, operations and critical infrastructure.
