The Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) and CFE Media have entered into a content partnership agreement that will deliver the knowledge and insight of CSIA associate and certified members to the readers of Control Engineering and Plant Engineering magazines and their related Websites.

“These publications have long understood the importance of the system integrator in the successful operation of manufacturing plants,” said Steve Rourke, managing partner of CFE Media. “For years, we have presented the System Integrator of the Year award and published the Automation Integrator Guide to make it easier for readers to access the talents of automation system integrators. This content partnership extends that relationship.”

“Our readers have told us the increased importance of professional integrators to help them expand their facilities and improve their operations,” said Control Engineering content manager Mark T. Hoske. “This content partnership will bring that expertise to our readers on a continuing basis through case studies, best practices, tips and tricks, and even multimedia presentations.”

Working with CSIA professional staff, CSIA certified and associate members will be able to suggest and contribute articles to Plant Engineering and Control Engineering. That content will be shared with their combined print circulation of more than 125,000 and Website audiences of more than 100,000 unique viewers.

“There is a tremendous amount of expertise among CSIA members,” said Plant Engineering content manager Bob Vavra. “We want to deliver that expertise to our content users through whatever form they wish to receive it. We know our readers always have valued CSIA-authored content in the past. This new partnership will deliver more information in a more targeted way.”

“An overwhelming number of our integrator members have agreed to provide content so we look forward to serving the needs of CFE Media and their readers,” said CSIA Executive Director Bob Lowe. “Never before has CSIA had a structured system to connect our members to the media. CSIA staff and our 300-plus member companies worldwide will convey their industrial automation knowledge and wisdom, both from a business and technical perspective, through CFE Media for years to come.”.

As a former system integrator, Lowe relies on experience to identify topics and potential authors who can bring a “from-the-trenches viewpoint” to articles for CFE publications. Ann Massie Nelson, CSIA communications manager, has written and edited articles on a wide range of topics. She will be working with CSIA member-authors to wordsmith content into news and feature style, ready for publication.
