Brossard, Quebec, Canada— Configurable ECC-PFCU series of fan coil unit controllers from Distech Controls control the space temperature for equipment with up to 4 stages of cooling or heating, 2 floating valves, and up to 3 fan speeds. The controllers also offer a dehumidification cycle.
Line include the ECC-PFCU with 6 universal inputs, 4 high-voltage relay outputs, and 4 triac outputs; the ECC-PFCU-A with 2 additional analog outputs and 24-V ac power supply; and the wireless communication enabled ECC-PFCU-W and ECC-PFCU-AW. All have compact plastic enclosures and a separable backplate with identified terminal block for easy wiring.
The controllers may be powered by supplies ranging from 85 to 265 V ac, with no external transformer and thus no additional wiring and related expenses required. Relay outputs supply up to 277 V ac and triac outputs up to 265 V ac power switching, allowing for application options from 24 V ac valve to 277 V ac lighting control. With 6 high precision (16 bit A/D) universal inputs, the controllers support digital, voltage (0-10 V), thermistor (PT100, 1K, 10K, 100K) inputs and current from 4-20 mA with external resistors. Spare I/O points can be shared over the network.
Said Etienne Veilleux, president and CEO of Distech Controls, “Equipment manufacturers will profit from cost savings associated with the elimination of any external relays, power supplies, and additional wiring, since the ECC-PFCUs offer these integrated and on-board.” The controllers also meet all standards for open protocol and are Lonmark certified, added Veilleux, and they “have been tested and certified under the international safety standard for electrical equipment, obtaining the UL 61010-1 listing,”
