Research Triangle Park, N.C.— Measuring just 600 microns high these 1.5 x 1 mm space saving relays are suitable for telecommunication, automated test equipment, automotive, and other applications where smaller is better. Performance testing of these 300 milliamp current capacity micro-relays showed no mechanical failures after more than 10 million cycles. Environmental testing, conducted by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, included operating the relay in temperatures between–65°F and 160°F, and subjected the relays to 60 G shock pulses of 8- to 10-milliseconds. It is available in a PCMCIA-compliant, low-profile ceramic package with plastic packaging available in the future. MCNC
