Machine builders and OEMs looking for compact HMI control panels to replace analog hardware controls have an option with small, high-resolution, widescreen graphic hardware from Maple Systems. With a capacity for multiple screens, pop-ups, alarms, trend graphs, animations, recipes, and more, this HMI can be configured to command equipment like a packaging or labeling machine, replace expensive analog lights, gauges and switches, or be configured to operate as a sophisticated control panel for a unique OEM task.

The HMI5043N 4.3 inch touchscreen graphic operator interface terminal (OIT) has features and capabilities often found in larger HMIs costing more (list price is $350). Its 5-in. x 4-in. x 1.5-in. size allows panel mounting almost anywhere either horizontally or vertically, because of its portrait-landscape mode.

The unit has a 400 MHz processor, 128 MB of memory, a high-contrast backlit LED, a client USB port, and a serial port. If features a 65,000 color high-contrast widescreen TFT display with resolution of 480 x 272 pixels. Its widescreen display reportedly is 30% wider than a traditional standard screen configuration.
