"Turbo roaming" and dual-RF design for redundancy join other advanced features on the AWK-5222 wireless access point / bridge / client from Moxa Technologies.
The AWK-5222 dual-RF wireless access point / bridge / client from Moxa provides a flexible and reliable solution for industrial wireless networks. Built-in advanced functionality includes being able to do redundant communications so no information is lost, bridging across long distances, and the ability to service clients at the same time. The unit even can create VLANS to keep clients separate from each other.
This wireless network access point is a dual-RF solution that is industrial IEEE 802.11a/b/g compliant.

The dual-RF solution is industrial IEEE 802.11a/b/g compliant, and includes higher security via WEP/WPA/WPA2/802.11X and powerful filters. The AWK-5222 is rugged enough for industrial applications, rated to operate at temperatures ranging from 0 to 60°C for standard models and -40 to 75°C for extended temperature models.
With two independent radio frequency (RF) modules, the AWK-5222 supports a greater variety of wireless configurations and applications, and the redundant wireless connections increase the reliability of the entire wireless network. The unit’s two dc power inputs make the power supply more reliable, and it can also be powered via PoE (power over Ethernet) for easier deployment.
Transmission rates for 802.11b are 1, 2, 5.5, 11 Mbps. Transmission rates for 802.11a/g are 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, 54 Mbps. Additional features include:
• Immunity against disconnection caused by radio interference;
• Loading balance of wireless communication;
• Advanced security;
• 64-bit and 128-bit WEP (wired equivalent privacy);
• Enable/disable SSID broadcasts;
• Power filters for access control;
• IEEE 802.1X/RADIUS support; and
• WPA/WPA2/802.11i support.
