Rochester, N.Y. – Rotork Controls Inc. announced Jan. 8 that its parent company, Rotork plc (Bath, U.K.), is acquiring Jordan Controls (Milwaukee, Wis.) for $10.4 million in cash.
Jordan manufactures electric actuators for the power, oil and gas, and other industries in the U.S., South America and the Pacific Rim. Rotork also manufactures electric, as well as fluid-power, actuators for users worldwide.
Robert Arnold, Rotork Controls’ president, will become president of Jordan Controls, while continuing to serve in his current position. Jordan’s president and owner, Robert Seidell, will serve as a consultant to Jordan until the end of 2002.
‘Jordan Controls will continue to do business as an independent unit. Nonetheless, it’s clear that the acquisition will offer significant benefits to both Rotork and Jordan,’ says Mr. Arnold. ‘For example, Jordan Controls, founded in 1955, has a longstanding, successful track record serving the power industry, which is an important segment for Rotork. Likewise, Rotork has a well-established international marketing arm that can help Jordan grow its worldwide sales. The product lines and services offered by both companies complement each other well.’
