Invensys plc (London) recently acquired the Walsh Group’s (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) Walsh Automation Inc. and Validation Technologies Inc. subsidiaries. These units will keep their names and continue to optimize plant performance as part of Invensys’ new Software Systems Division. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

To give it “a more global perspective,” ISA (Research Triangle Park, N.C.) recently renamed itself as the Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society. It was previously called ISA, the international society for measurement and control, and before that it was known as the Instrumentation Society of America.
