Lantronix Inc. (Irvine, Calif.) announced Sept. 20 an agreement to acquire privately held Synergetic Micro Systems (Downers Grove, Ill.). The purchase is subject to customary conditions, including approval by Synergetic’s shareholders. The acquisition is expected to be completed before the end of 2001.

The European Commission (Brussels, Belgium) announced Oct. 10 its final decision prohibiting Schneider Electric ‘s acquisition of Legrand . Schneider Electric and Legrand have been informed of the decision, and are contesting its validity. Schneider already has decided appeal the decision to the Court of First Instance of the European Communities in Luxembourg to ensure that all its rights are recognized.

Recently formed by several former Honeywell IAC executives, MycroSensor Technologies LLC (Phoenix, Ariz.) bought Moore Products’ XTC transmitter product lines and its Fluidic Flowmeter lines on Sept. 28 from Siemens Energy & Automation Inc. (Alpharetta, Ga.). Though based in Phoenix, MycroSensor’s manufacturing initially will be located in Spring House, Pa. Financial details of the purchase were not disclosed. Siemens E&A, part of Siemens AG, bought Moore Products Co. (Spring House, Pa.) last year.
