Bundy Group, an investment bank and advisory firm that specializes in the automation segment, provides an update on mergers and acquisitions and capital placement activity for this industry, with 14 April 2026 report transactions, involving Agile Robotics, MartinCSI and Yaskawa America, among other companies. The Bundy Group said the automation market continues to experience many mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and capital markets activities. Machine Solutions acquired Megadale, April 9
Machine Solutions acquired Megadale, a Galway, Ireland-based automation equipment provider specializing in precision engineering for medical device manufacturing, particularly automated stent and catheter production systems. The Megadale team integrates into Intec Automation, expanding local expertise with Machine Solutions’ global platform to serve MedTech manufacturers across Europe.
Mortenson acquired Nor-Cal Controls, April 8
Mortenson acquired Nor-Cal Controls, a controls systems provider specializing in energy management control systems for solar, battery energy storage, solar‑plus‑storage, and microgrid projects. Nor-Cal designs open‑architecture SCADA and power plant control systems that interface directly with the grid to store, dispatch, and manage power, and will be integrated into Mortenson’s EPC operation to deliver fully integrated, high‑performance energy projects.
Magic Software Americas and Axiom Systems acquired MartinCSI, April 2
Magic Software Americas and Axiom Systems have acquired MartinCSI, an Inductive Automation Premier Integrator specializing in industrial automation, machine safety systems and robotics deployment. The deal creates a full-spectrum manufacturing technology partner combining consulting, integration platforms, and plant-floor automation engineering for end-to-end digital transformation. MartinCSI is a prior Control Engineering and Plant Engineering System Integrator of the Year.
Agile Robots acquired thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering in Europe, North America, April 1
Agile Robots has acquired thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering assets in Europe and North America on April 1, 2026. The business continues as Krause Automation under Agile Robots, combining AI-powered robotics with more than 75 years of automated production systems expertise for automotive, e-mobility, consumer electronics, medical technology, and logistics. It adds approximately 650 experts and 10 locations, focusing on end-to-end plant integration from planning to implementation.
The Automation Engineering sale, according to thyssenkrupp, is part of the repositioning of thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology begun in 2025 to focus on four core areas: chassis, components, aftermarket and forging.
Sterling Engineering acquired Absolute Machine Control Technologies, March 31
Sterling Engineering acquired Absolute Machine Control Technologies, a Rockford, Illinois-based controls engineering and control system integration firm. Founded in 2008, AMCT specializes in electrical/software design for industrial machine controls, programming of human-machine interfaces and programmable logic controllers (PLC/HMI), servo systems, panel building, machine wiring, maintenance and retrofits for manufacturing and original equipment manufacturing (OEM) customers.
Chevron Technology Ventures, Asahi Kasei & Schooner Capital funds Kewazo, March 19
Kewazo raised a new funding round backed by Chevron Technology Ventures, Asahi Kasei, Schooner Capital and others, bringing total funding to $35 million. The Kewazo Liftbot lifting robot is deployed at more than 20 industrial sites including refineries, petrochemical plants, chemical complexes and power facilities, automating maintenance, turnarounds and capital projects while replacing cranes and manual handling.
GrayMatter acquired FTE Factory Advisors, March 19
GrayMatter, a provider of industrial automation and digital transformation services, acquired FTE Factory Advisors, a Lean transformation consultancy. Backed by Tailwind Capital, the deal combines Lean methodology with GrayMatter’s AI-driven industrial intelligence to deliver end-to-end factory modernization from strategy to plant floor execution.
Yaskawa America acquired Variadores SAS, March 18
Yaskawa America has acquired Variadores SAS, Colombia’s leading variable speed drive supplier since 1987. The Bogotá-headquartered firm supplies Yaskawa low/medium voltage drives across industrial, municipal, commercial, and oil & gas automation segments, with full management retention post-acquisition.
Yzi Labs & Jerry Jang funded RoboForce, March 16
RoboForce has raised $52 million in oversubscribed funding, bringing total funding to $67 million. The round was led by YZi Labs with participation from Jerry Yang, and the capital will support its next-generation robot foundation model, general-purpose Physical AI robots, and manufacturing readiness for commercial deployment.
Primo Ventures, Techshop & 40Jemz Ventures funded Mirai Robotics, March 9
Mirai Robotics raised $4.2 million in pre-seed funding to develop autonomous vehicles and intelligent maritime systems for complex sea operations. Europe’s first dual-use startup focuses on AI robotics infrastructure for surveillance, patrolling, monitoring and control to address maritime digitization gaps, labor shortages and operational risks.

Distribution Solutions Group acquired Eastern Valve & Control Specialties, a trusted provider of industrial valves, instrumentation, actuation and flow-control solutions serving Atlantic Canada. Founded in 2002 and based in Paradise, Newfoundland, Eastern Valve generates approximately CAD $17 million in annual revenue and is now part of DSG’s Source Atlantic “Mobile Valve” platform to expand its Canadian operations.
Dacke Industri acquired Rotork Midland, March 5
Dacke Industri has acquired Rotork Midland, a UK-based solenoid valve and instrumentation manufacturer for industrial applications. Based in Wolverhampton with about 44 employees and £7.5M annual turnover, Midland Flow manufactures under Midland-ACS and Alcon brands using 316L stainless steel for control valves, actuators, control panels, gas detection and fire-fighting equipment. Acquired March 5, as part of Rotork’s divestment, it joins Dacke’s Air Technology Business Area.
SPIE acquired ROFA, March 2
SPIE acquired ROFA Industrial Automation AG, a leading German system integrator headquartered in Kolbermoor, Bavaria. Founded in 1967 with €430M 2025 revenue and 1,200 employees, ROFA delivers turnkey factory automation (80% revenue) and warehouse/logistics solutions across automotive, food, pharma and healthcare markets.
