Bundy Group, an investment bank and advisory firm that specializes in the automation segment, provides an update on mergers and acquisitions and capital placement activity for this industry, with 12 May 2026 report transactions, involving Automation Werx, Honeywell Intelligrated and Mind Robotics, among other companies. The Bundy Group said the automation market continues to experience many mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and capital markets activities. Activity drivers include the growth-oriented nature of the automation market, the consolidation opportunities within the industry and the strength of many of the companies operating within it. SJE acquired Anchor Scientific, May 18
SJE Inc., a control system provider, acquired Anchor Scientific Inc., a Minnesota-based manufacturer and distributor of float switches, control panels, alarms and junction boxes for liquid level sensing in the water and wastewater industry. Founded in 1965 and based in Long Lake, Minnesota, Anchor Scientific serves municipal, commercial and residential markets across the United States. The acquisition expands SJE’s portfolio of liquid level floats and related products and will be integrated into SJE’s Controls and Level Sensing Technology (CLT) division. This marks SJE’s eighth acquisition since 2021.
Relevant Solutions acquired Automation Werx, May 14
Relevant Solutions acquired Automation Werx LLC, a UL‑listed systems integration company based in Idaho Falls, Idaho, expanding its design, panel fabrication, programmable logic controller (PLC), human-machine interface (HMI) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) integration capabilities and establishing a local presence in the Intermountain West to serve water/wastewater, dairy and agriculture customers with 24/7/365 support.
Kleiner Perkins and others raised capital for Mind Robotics, May 13
Mind Robotics raised $400 million in a new financing round led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Meritech Capital, Redpoint Ventures, SV Angel, Incharge Capital, A-Star Capital and Garuda Ventures, as well as existing investors Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, Eclipse, Prysm Capital, Bain Capital Ventures and Greenoaks, bringing total investment to more than $1 billion. Founded by Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe and spun out of Rivian in 2025, the Palo Alto-based company builds a full-stack industrial robotics platform combining AI foundation models, purpose-built hardware and deployment infrastructure to automate dexterous, reasoning-intensive manufacturing tasks at scale. Mind Robotics robots are currently deployed in Rivian factories, with new capital supporting expanded production and live factory deployments. This follows a $115M seed round in late 2025 and a $500M Series A in March 2026.
Rexel agreed to acquire Revere Electrical Supply, May 12
Rexel has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Revere Electrical Supply, a recognized industrial automation player and authorized reseller of Rockwell Automation solutions headquartered in Mokena, Illinois. With over 100 years of service history across Illinois and Wisconsin, Revere operates 10 branches and generated approximately $330 million in 2025 turnover. The acquisition expands Rexel’s footprint in the Midwest and builds on its North American industrial automation presence, representing Rexel’s 16th acquisition in North America since 2020.
Dnow acquired Edge Controls, May 8
Dnow (a distributor of pipe, valves, fittings (PVF), pumps and packaged, engineered process and production equipment) has acquired Edge Controls for $46 million, a Midland, Texas-based provider of automation and controls for industrial applications. The deal adds more automation capability to Dnow’s portfolio and broadens its reach in industrial process and controls markets.
Ametek acquired Indicor Instrumentation, May 6
Ametek acquired Indicor Instrumentation from Indicor LLC (backed by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice) for $5.0 billion in cash, a portfolio of mission-critical test-and-measurement businesses generating $1.1 billion in sales with strong recurring revenue from consumables and services.
Neuberger Private Markets invests in Flow Control Group, April 30
Recapitalization Flow Control Group, a North American network of technical flow control and industrial automation distributors, will receive a significant minority investment from Neuberger Private Markets while KKR maintains majority ownership. FCG serves water and wastewater, life sciences, aerospace and defense, food and beverage, power generation and data centers with over 3,000 employees and more than 120 locations.
Keysight Technologies and Australia’s National Reconstruction Fund Corp. raised funds for Liquid Instruments, April 28
Liquid Instruments has raised $50 million in a Series C funding round co-led by Keysight Technologies and Australia’s National Reconstruction Fund Corp., bringing total funding to over $100 million. The San Diego/Australia-based company develops software-defined test and measurement instruments with AI-driven customization for aerospace, defense, semiconductors and research applications.
Headline, Bullhound Capital, Daphni, and Felix Capital raised funds for Sereact for AI robotics, April 27
Sereact raised $110 million in a Series B funding round led by Headline (Bullhound Capital, Daphni, Felix Capital, Creandum, Point Nine, Air Street Capital), bringing total funding over $140 million. The Stuttgart company develops Cortex 2.0, an AI robotic brain for warehouse robotics enabling picking, packing, assembly, kitting and zero-shot task adaptation. More than 200 systems are deployed across Europe.
The Sterling Group Foundation Fund acquired The Scruggs Companies, April 24
The Sterling Group Foundation Fund acquired The Scruggs Companies (Scruggs) from Rox Capital Partners, a Houston-based provider of municipal water infrastructure solutions including flow control products (valves, gates, actuators) and repair/maintenance services for water and wastewater systems across Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas.
Congruent Ventures raised capital for Cloneable, April 23
Using capital raised from Congruent Ventures, Cloneable launched Cloneable Agent, an agentic AI platform that shadows experts using desktop/web software to capture and replicate complex workflows as scalable AI agents for critical infrastructure modernization in utilities, telecom, energy, vegetation management, construction, rail, mining, agriculture and manufacturing.
American Industrial Partners agrees to buy Honeywell Warehouse and Workflow Solutions, April 23
Honeywell agreed to sell its Warehouse and Workflow Solutions business to American Industrial Partners in an all-cash transaction, a provider of material handling and warehouse automation solutions including automated sortation systems, palletizers, conveyors, robotics, aftermarket services and software under Intelligrated and Transnorm brands with $935 million in 2025 revenue and 3,300 employees.
