Nuremberg, Germany— RG7 Opto-Bero family of optical proximity switches includes three products detecting objects by contrast, brightness, distance, and color. Color-Bero detects objects in learned color ranges, the tag reader detects differences in contrast, and very small objects of & 0.1 mm are detected by Laser-Bero.

Color-Bero detects objects in learned color ranges, the tag reader detects differences in contrast, and very small objects of & 0.1 mm are detected by Laser-Bero. The switches have an AS-i network connection enabling communication to a PLC. They also have electronic background suppression, anti-interference functions, and high operating frequencies. Ambient light does not affect these switches, and they are resistant to mutual interference. Set-up is via a “teach” method. Siemens Automation & Drives
