Milford, O. —Design engineers are being challenged to pack more machine into a smaller physical package without sacrificing performance. The new variable speed “inside-out” motor accomplishes reduction in space by literally turning things “inside-out.” The spinning rotor is on the outside and the stationary stator is on the inside. The driven process roll encases the rotor. The only components outside the roll are the leads. Its drive package is fully integrated with the motor. Motors are available from 0.1 to 100 hp at speeds from 60 to 60,000 rpm in 2 through 36 pole configurations. Welco Technologies
