IIoT/Cloud series, Part 2: Subject matter experts and enterprise analytics

ONE (1) CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOUR (PDH) AVAILABLE FOR ALL ATTENDEES.

Data scientists and data engineers are among the fastest growing occupations in the manufacturing industry, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics — and in many other industries as well. Moreover, relatively few of these data professionals are familiar with the unique parameters relevant to manufacturing and process-production environments.

One emerging tactic to fill this skills gap is that suppliers are introducing solutions meant to be self-service applications, allowing engineers to take the initiative, with minimum support from data engineers.

Evidence indicates engineers and technicians are “grasping the bull by the horn” by further educating themselves in the details of statistics and modeling. In this webcast, we’ll learn what they’re learning and how they’re learning it.

Learning objectives:

  • Define what the role of subject matter experts is in data science projects
  • How subject matter experts and data scientists can profitably collaborate
  • How computing interfaces are evolving to better support subject matter experts
  • Explore what some of the most compelling industrial data science projects are
