Mississagua, Ontario, Canada — Oracle Canada and Primavera Systems (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.) recently created planning and accounting software to give managers advanced tools for tracking and analyzing project data. “Development and improvement of best practices is easier when project information is stored in a relational database that can compare different projects with only a few similar elements,” says Mauricio Rojas, Oracle’s business development manager.
Canada-based Rapid Transit Project (RTP) 2000 Ltd. is using Oracle/Primavera’s solution to manage information and planning for rapid transit system expansion in Vancouver, B.C. Besides laying track, building stations, and purchasing vehicles, RTP 2000 needs to keep the public and regulatory consultation groups informed and respond to changes. “Multiple suppliers need access to our schedules and information from multiple locations,” says George Hofsink, RTP 2000’s implementation manager. “Oracle Applications and Primavera P3’s openness makes this possible.”
