Siemens Automation & Drive Group recently added Aspen Tech’s (Houston, Tex.) InfoPlus.21 to its global sales program. This provides Siemens’ customers one source for automation and drive technology as well as optimization and production planning products. For both Unix and Microsoft Windows NT, InfoPlus.21 can be used in manufacturing and process industries. Siemens says Aspen Tech’s software is particularly suited to packaged goods sequencing. InfoPlus.21 is based on static and dynamic model mapping of production processes. Production data are logically linked with management level data via a SAP system, for example. This enables users to import production data and access several locations simultaneously.
